Many years ago, I was playing in the Abilene Philharmonic and we did a pops concert where we accompanied a magic show. It was cool 1) because we were playing all this awesome obscure Russian ballet music, and 2) because we were behind the magicians and we could see how some of the tricks were done. That ball trick was one of them. It was just on a stick the audience couldn’t see.
At one point, they brought out a big box and made the conductor disappear. We could see how that was done too. But after the conductor was gone, the head of the show came out, and with a thick (probably fake) Russian accent said, “Wh—where is the conductor?? Is he backstage, petting the magic rabbit?”
The orchestra pretty much lost it at that point. I’ve heard it called a lot of things.....

I love that close up magic. Tony Slydini was one of the greatest. So smooth.

At 1:50-1:54
, notice how the three cards are fanned differently when he flips them back over. All the rest? No idea.

I think it’s fairly easy to see when he does something, just not how he does something. There is a lot of very good palming going on.

As I said to somebody else, you can kind of see when he does stuff, just not how he does stuff.

Yes, like I can tell when the switches happen but as for how I have no idea.
